Advance Fleet Services is looking for a hands-on Service Team Manager to lead daily shop operations,
support a team of skilled technicians, and keep our customers’ fleets moving. This role is ideal for
someone who knows how a diesel shop should run, and is ready to take ownership of making it happen.
You won’t be stuck in the middle managing chaos. You’ll have the support and authority to build a team,
improve workflow, and create a shop environment that runs right.
What You’ll Do:
Shop Operations
- Oversee daily workflow of the shop, ensuring jobs move efficiently from intake to completion
- Schedule and prioritize repairs based on urgency, technician skillset, and workload
- Monitor job progress and adjust as needed to avoid delays
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and support a team of diesel technicians
- Set clear expectations for performance, quality, and accountability
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
- Foster a team culture built on respect, communication, and pride in work
Quality & Efficiency
- Ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards
- Troubleshoot complex or escalated repair issues when needed
- Identify inefficiencies in workflow and implement improvements
- Reduce comebacks and rework by reinforcing “fix it right the first time”
Customer & Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for service updates when needed
- Work closely with front office/service advisors to manage expectations and timelines
- Ensure clear communication between technicians and leadership
Shop Performance
- Track key metrics (turnaround time, productivity, comeback rate)
- Manage parts usage and help control costs without cutting corners
- Support continuous improvement of shop processes and systems
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in a Service Manager role
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment
- Strong understanding of shop workflow, diagnostics, and repair processes
- Ability to lead a team while still being hands-on when needed
- Organized, decisive, and solutions-focused
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (based on experience)
- Performance-based incentives
- Stable, consistent workload
- A supportive ownership team that values your input
- A shop where quality work and teamwork come first
- Opportunity to grow with the company
Why This Role Is Different
You’ve worked in shops where everything is reactive. Where you’re expected to manage problems, but not fix them.
At Advance Fleet Services, we’re building something better. This is your opportunity to take control of a shop,
lead a strong team, and create a standard you’re proud of.
Apply Today — If you’re ready to lead, not just manage, we’d like to talk.

- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting on diesel engines, trailers, and fleet equipment
- Handle advanced jobs where deep expertise is required
Quality Workmanship
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ensure all work meets company and industry standards
- Stand behind your work, reducing comebacks and repeat repairs
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
- Perform thorough inspections to identify potential issues early
- Complete preventative maintenance services with strong attention to detail
Team Support
- Assist and mentor junior technicians when needed
- Collaborate with the Service Manager and team to keep workflow moving

- Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
- Experience with fleet maintenance and repair
- Own tools required (specialty tools a plus)
- CDL and/or certifications are a plus (not required)
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Consistent hours and steady workload
- A well-equipped shop with the right tools
- A team that respects your time and skill
- Leadership that supports doing the job right—not rushing it
- Opportunity to grow and take on more responsibility

That’s not how we operate.
At Advance Fleet Services, we believe in:
