Advance Fleet Services is a premier fleet service provider and truck center located in central Birmingham, Alabama. With decades of experience and a team of highly skilled technicians, we provide full in-house service for all makes and models of heavy-duty on-road and off-road equipment, including forklifts and trailers.

We’re a rapidly growing company with increasing customer demand, and we’re looking for a motivated Diesel Technician to grow with us.

Position Overview

As a Level B Diesel Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing Class 3–8 vehicles and equipment. This position is ideal for someone with solid foundational experience who’s ready to advance their skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Pay & Schedule

  • Starting at $25.00/hour
  • Full-time position
  • Minimum 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Class 3–8 diesel vehicles
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Repair or replace defective parts and components
  • Perform welding and soldering as needed
  • Maintain accurate repair order documentation
  • Provide professional customer service and communication
  • Participate in occasional roadside service calls
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with PM services, air systems, electrical systems, wheel ends, coolant systems, and A/C repair
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must have personal tools and toolbox
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Certifications

  • EPA 608/609 Certification
