Job Description

Advance Fleet Services is looking for a highly skilled Level A Diesel Technician who takes pride in diagnosing problems correctly and fixing them right the first time. This is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for someone who can work independently, handle complex diagnostics, and set the standard for quality in the shop. If you’re tired of rushed jobs, poor communication, or working with outdated equipment, this is a place where your experience is valued.

This is also a leadership role. We’re looking for someone who leads in the shop, not just on paper — setting the standard for other technicians through the quality of your own work, lending your expertise when a job gets complicated, and helping the Service Manager schedule and prioritize jobs so the shop runs smoothly.

What You’ll Do:

Diagnostics & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting on diesel engines, trailers, and fleet equipment
  • Handle advanced jobs where deep expertise is required
Quality Workmanship
  • Complete repairs accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ensure all work meets company and industry standards
  • Stand behind your work, reducing comebacks and repeat repairs
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
  • Perform thorough inspections to identify potential issues early
  • Complete preventative maintenance services with strong attention to detail
Shop Responsibility
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
  • Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hands-on diesel technician experience
  • Strong diagnostic skills (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic)
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and repair
  • Own tools required (specialty tools a plus)
  • CDL and/or certifications are a plus (not required)
